The Government of Canada announced the signing of two tax information exchange (treaties), San Marino and Anguilla, agreements bringing the total number of such agreements signed by the Canada 11 to 14 months.
The Government also said it expects to sign treaties more in the coming months and is currently engaged in many negotiations.
Agreement with San Marino signed October 27, 2010, and the agreement with Anguilla, under a mandate from the British Government was signed on October 28, 2010.
These treaties creates the legal framework to allow for the exchange between the tax authorities of the relevant tax information for the administration and enforcement of national tax laws Anguilla the Canada and San Marino respectively.
Hosting agreements in a statement on November 17, Canada's Minister of finance, Jim Flaherty said: ?These agreements will help tax Canadian authorities international combat fiscale.La 11 treaties signed shows until Canada?s determination unshakeable meet its international commitment to the implementation of the Organization for economic cooperation and development standard for the exchange of tax information. ?
Canada now signed treaties with Anguilla, Bahamas, Bermuda, the Cayman, Dominique, Netherlands Antilles, Saint Lucia, Islands, San Marino, Saint-Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Turks and Caicos Islands.
